Amber + Chris’ Enchanted Moody Wedding
Today we are sharing with you Amber and Chris’ enchanted, moody wedding, full of gorgeous rich tones, lush greenery and one amaaaaazing archway! This time of year has me craving the moody colours and this wedding delivers! Amber and Chris wanted an enchanted forest feel, with a bit more of a gothic vibe. With oodles of floral elements in dark jewel tone colours, an abundance of foliage, and their stunning, earthy venue, it turned out beautifully!
Pine and Pond really was the PERFECT venue with both the ceremony and reception locations are nestled into scenic natural areas. They have lots of open manicured space, great for guests to play yard games, as well as gorgeous tree lined walking paths around their ponds.
Amber looked absolutely bewitching! Her long, flowy raven hair is so pretty, and her dress is sensational!! I love lace, and the lace for both her dress and her veil is soooo good. You can really see the pretty details of it in the flat lay photo with the vow books and rings.
We designed an enchanted garden bouquet for her with lots of depth, texture and colour designed in a loose, organic style. In a mixture of jewel tones we used anemones, astrantia, dahlias, garden roses, king protea, ‘amnesia’ roses (a super pretty lavender with brown undertones), scabiosa, sweet peas, lisianthus and amaranthus with a beautiful mixture of foliages. The greenery included agonis, eucalyptus (cinerea and silver dollar), Italian ruscus, jasmine vine and ninebark. To finish off the bouquet we added delicate trailing silk ribbons in colours to match the flowers. A perfect bouquet for our little tree nymph bride!
CEREMONY
Amber and Chris had a larger wedding party, with eight people on each side. Both bridesmaids and groomsmen were sporting black attire for a clean, classic look. I love the bridesmaid’s bouquets! They were minimalist in style, with a big, chonky king protea as a statement flower. We accented with astantia and gorgeous foliage. The soft pink of the protea was a lovely contrast to compliment the girl’s elegant dark dresses.
Chris’ boutonniere was a “mini bouquet” style, featuring one of my favs, “blushing bride” mini protea. Like the bouquets, his boutonniere was accented with burgundy astrantia and tucks of greens. It looked really sharp against his black suit!
The ceremony set up looked FABULOUS. Lining the aisle, we had striking arrangements of reds, purple and burgundy. The purple antique hydrangrea are my fav and look gorgeous with the flowers we also saw in the bridal bouquet. The vibrant red of the roses added such a nice pop of colour!
On to the archway – I am dying to talk about it! At first glance, it may appear like it is just a standard arch way with flowers on but is actually a really cool layered design. Along with the flowers on the archway, there are tree stump pillars with floral arrangement toppers, more arrangements at the base along with pools of moss, rose petals and artificial candles. It looks like you stumbled upon some magical fairy alter in the corner of a forest. And the chandelier!? Chef’s kiss. The layered design adds so much body and depth, and is just such a beautiful, romantic, natural design. Definitely feeling that enchanted forest vibe. Well done, Calyx crew!!
RECEPTION
Pine and Pond has an incredible tent, and gorgeous wood tables and chairs available for their clients. The nicer quality wood tables and chairs feels so cozy, and don’t require much decor to look really lovely. Amber and Chris’ reception looked so romantic with all the rich reds and purples with the flowers, gold accents and candlelight.
We had floral arrangements to highlight both the welcoming sign as well as the seating chart to greet guests as they arrived. Inside the tent, all of the guest’s tables were adorned with flowers as well. We designed two styles of centrepieces. The first was a garland of eucalyptus, Italian ruscus and roses running the length of the 8 ft tables, peppered with pillar candles for ambiance. The second style was a low arrangement of roses, antique hydrangea, lisianthus, dahlias, lisianthus and astrantia with mixed greens. These were designed into gold compote containers and were accented with tapered candles.
The archway from the ceremony was reconstructed and moved to the reception to be used behind the sweetheart table, to put a spotlight on the radiant couple! The sweetheart table was adorned with garlands of greens and roses, with lush viney greens dripping over the edge of the table. To complete this space, one last arrangement was displayed in front of the table on the floor.
Lastly, there was a lovely photoboth area with a glorious velvet sofa, perfect for guests to cozy up on for pictures. A neon ‘better together’ sign was hung up above in trees and we added our Calyx touch. Big beautiful arrangements were tucked on the ground on either side, as well as one of the upper corners of the couch. Totes adorbs.
Thanks for joining us today, my friends! We hope you enjoyed this enchanted forest wedding. This little flower fairy is signing off, have a good week, y’all!
