Pinebrook Golf & Country Club’s outdoor ceremony site is the kind of setting that makes a florist’s work feel like a conversation rather than a commission. The ceremony took place on a wide, manicured lawn with an unobstructed view of the valley below with rolling green in every direction, and the blue Alberta sky enormous overhead. It needed very little, but it received extraordinary.

A welcome sign framed accented with. compact, garden inspired compote arrangement greeted guests at the entrance – the first hint of the warm, abundance waiting ahead. Persimmon bows at each corner anchored the stationery in the day’s terracotta tones.

At the altar, two white pillars grounded the ceremony space with intention. Atop each sat a generous, billowing arrangement – pink hydrangea creating soft volume at the foundation, while ‘peaches and cream’ dahlias, butterfly ranunculus, standard ranunculus in butter and peach tones layered in warmth and visual depth. Cappuccino roses, mocha lisianthus, chocolate lace, phlox and stock wove through in more muted tones that added depth to the composition without competing for attention. Italian ruscus threaded throughout with its rich green leaves grounded the arrangements and lending each one a sense of lushness.

Equally considered, secondary arrangements tumbled at the base of each pillar directly onto the grass – blooms spilling outward as though they had simply grown thee. The effect was immersive. As Jennifer and John stood between them exchanging vows, the florals framed them like a living painting, with the valley stretching out behind.

The photographer captured it beautifully, but it only hints at what it felt like to stand in that space – held by colour, open sky, and the particular stillness of a moment both of them had waited their whole lives for.
