For thirteen years, Erin has helped shape the flowers, friendships and everyday rhythm of Calyx Floral Design.
Travis and Erin make a dynamic duo. Together, they turn creative ideas into weddings, build systems that keep the shop moving, and make ambitious designs possible. From floral planning to sharing our story online, Erin brings dedication, fresh ideas and a well-timed pun.
Her contribution reaches far beyond the work itself. Erin cares deeply about doing things well and showing up for the people she loves. Loyal, hardworking and generous, she gives so much of herself to everything she holds close.
Family sits at the centre of that circle. Her mom, Lois, also belongs to the Calyx team, making this celebration especially meaningful. Stories about her niece and nephew brighten conversations around the shop.
Away from work, Erin loves animals, travel, live music and any excuse to dress for a theme. After adventures far from home, she found love with Johnny, a musician already connected through family friends. Her mom’s worries about a distant romance gave way to a love story much closer to home.
Their Archway Manor wedding reflected that personality. Colourful flowers, playful details and thoughtful styling captured Erin’s love of making everything around her feel special.
Celebrating Erin as a bride gave us the chance to give back to someone who gives generously.
How lucky are we that Calyx holds a place in her heart?
PORTRAITS
Colourful wedding flowers brought Erin and Johnny’s playful vision to life at Archway Manor. Coral, pink, peach and mustard met pale blue, lavender and fresh green in a palette full of personality. Garden-inspired designs and ’70s details balanced floral abundance with a distinctly retro spirit.
With planning by Engaged by Darcie, the celebration carried that aesthetic through its carefully coordinated details. Lindsay Nickel Photography captured the couple’s portraits, while Calyx Floral Design translated their colours into expressive floral compositions.
Erin’s smile drew the eye immediately, bringing warmth to portraits framed by woodland greenery. Soft blonde waves outlined her face, while understated makeup let her features shine. A pearl necklace complemented her open neckline, adding a classic detail alongside the playful flowers.
Her off-the-shoulder gown paired a fitted bodice with a full skirt patterned in delicate floral lace. Draped sleeves framed her shoulders, while her long veil carried dried flowers along its edge. Those small touches of colour connected her bridal look with the blooms she held.
Her bouquet combined garden roses, dahlias, zinnias and ranunculus in pink, peach, coral and yellow. Pale blue accents and airy sweet peas softened the composition, while cosmos introduced delicate, open faces. Long strands of green amaranthus trailed against her skirt, giving the arrangement a flowing silhouette.
Meanwhile, bridesmaids wore individual colours and silhouettes, mixing floral prints with solid shades. Their bouquets echoed each dress, moving through pink, lavender, blue, coral and green. Together, they created a living expression of the palette, with each person bringing her own character.
Johnny and his groomsmen wore pale neutral tailoring, waistcoats and coordinating ties. Colourful boutonnières added individual accents and complement the bridesmaids.
With every embrace and shared smile, their celebration brought a deeply personal love story into full bloom.
CEREMONY
As guests arrived at Archway Manor, they were welcomed with an abundance of colourful wedding flowers, beginning at the estate’s tiered white fountain. Floral clusters nestled into its basins and gathered around the base, softening the stone with garden textures. Pink hydrangeas, roses and pale blue delphinium introduced the celebration’s palette against the venue’s white exterior.
Nearby, a flower-framed welcome sign continued the invitation. Pink and fuchsia blooms crowned its upper edge, while peach, yellow and blue flowers clustered below. Long ribbons added another playful flourish.
Beyond the entrance, the woodland ceremony space opened onto a wooden deck beneath tall trees. White chairs faced a substantial stone arch, where the flowers became the star of the show.
Abundant, asymmetrical installations climbed its columns, transforming the structure into an immersive floral setting. Colour blocking guided the eye through coral, peach, pink and mustard before shifting into green, lavender and pale blue. Each grouping retained its character, yet neighbouring shades flowed together through overlapping blooms and leafy stems.
Garden roses, dahlias and zinnias brought fullness, while ranunculus added tightly layered petals. Meanwhile, delphinium and snapdragons reached upward, contrasting with hydrangea clusters and cascading amaranthus. Coral fluted plinths supported additional arrangements, extending the composition beyond the arch itself.
Along the aisle, substantial floral groupings zigzagged between rows of seating. Moss accents grounded the designs, suggesting a garden emerging through the decking. Tall stems rose above rounded flower heads, while trailing greenery connected each cluster to the space below.
An ornate white signing table carried an arrangement of peach and coral flowers. Its airy stems and draping amaranthus echoed the larger installations, carrying their movement into this intimate detail.
Among towering trees and generous drifts of colour, their shared smiles brought the ceremony’s most personal details into focus.
RECEPTION
Cocktail hour unfolded on the terrace, where flowers suspended beneath lanterns carried the palette overhead. Roses, zinnias and trailing amaranthus softened the fixtures, while wavy glass vessels brought retro character to tabletop arrangements.
Nearby, a curved pink and mustard seating display held colourful framed cards. Flowers nestled around Johnny’s guitar and amplifier, adding a personal musical reference as a live band performed.
Inside, a generous arrangement in a yellow vessel welcomed guests beneath the foyer’s sweeping staircase. Garden roses, hydrangeas, dahlias and delphinium created layers of colour, and texture. Meanwhile, bouquets rested on colourful accordion pillars beside guestbook displays and illustrated posters.
The head table formed a winding composition of adjoining tables, each dressed in its own hue. Centrepieces repeated those shades, while floral waterfalls spilled over the edges and gathered at floor level. At adjoining sections, neighbouring colours mingled through the cascades, connecting the individual tables into one flowing design.
Behind the couple, the repurposed ceremony installation supplied a towering floral backdrop. Smaller wall arches echoed its shape, with greenery tracing their curves and flower clusters introducing pink, peach and blue.
Guest tables continued the colour blocking through carefully coordinated details. Napkins, candle favours and name cards matched nearby arrangements, creating cohesive settings within the broader spectrum. Zinnias, ranunculus, garden roses and hydrangeas supplied rounded forms, while sweet peas and delphinium added airy movement.
Large multicolour arrangements anchored the ends of long tables. Elsewhere, greenery and floral clusters climbed the grand staircase, linking the reception room with the foyer.
Finally, a cake with orange and yellow waves stood beside colourful taper candles and small flower vases. Together, the cake’s wavy decoration, slender candles and delicate blooms echoed the reception’s playful retro style.
The flowers filled the room with colour, but Erin and Johnny’s happiness gave the celebration its heart.
