Ashley + James

It’s always fun when you have the opportunity to design for another wedding industry professional so when I was contacted by Ashley (of Premiere Event Management) about her upcoming wedding at Emerald Lake Lodge I was immediately excited.  Her simple yet incredibly elegant ceremony was held overlooking the waters of the stunning lake and her flowers matched her Hayley Paige dress perfectly.

For both the bride and bridesmaids we used a base of fluffy white hydrangea and accented the blooms with a variety of garden rose and peony blooms to create a soft look.  To allow the bouquets to stand out against the natural greenery of the setting we designed the bouquets purely with fresh flowers.

The reception for the wedding was held 2 days later at the Best Western Resort and Casino in Camrose and was it ever a sight to behold.  Long rectangular tables with glittering gold runners and multiple centerpieces filled the banquet room that the Bride had accented with many of her own touches.   Her bouquets were re-used for more photos and head table decor (and the flowers lasted beautifully!!!; even after being picked up a day early for the ceremony and making the trip down to Emerald lake and back! – and they were hydrangeas. – So for those of you worried about how long hydrangea last… don’t!).  …and for favors, individually potted succulents hand painted with their guests names on them!  How thoughtful!

This incredibly kind bride even donated her centerpiece flowers to a local hospice after the wedding.  What an amazing idea!
