Styled Halloween Photoshoot – Bridgerton x Dracula
Spooky season is on, and we are here for it with a phenomenal styled Halloween Photoshoot inspired by Dracula, with a peppering of Bridgerton. Travis and Jesse were the initial plan makers, they have done several shoots together now and they always turn out fabulous!!! They came up with the framework, and each reached out to other creators who they felt would be good fits for the project and everyone really brought their A-game.
Joy can feel so elusive at times. With our busy schedules and never ending to do lists it can even feel like who has time for it?! What I have learned is that while we can’t force joy, we can make space for it, and have provide better conditions for joy in our lives. Being present is one of them, slowing down enough to pay attention to just how magical our wild little lives are. After that, I feel we are all probably a bit different on what does it for us, but as a creative individual – getting to work on projects like this is totally a joy maker!
Getting sparked by a fun idea. Rolling with the creative ideas and building a plan. And, another important element, collaborating with others, where everyone brings their talents and magic to the table. If we tried to plan it all by ourselves it would never ever turn out as well, as when everyone brings fresh ideas and perspective to the mix.
I truly feel it is so important to carve out space in our lives for things that spark joy. What a gift to participate in a project that was created in such pure joy, the photos are a clear representation of the magic that was made! We hope they spark a little joy in your day, too!
DRACULA + HIS BRIDE
With the inspiration being Dracula, we obviously needed him to have a bride as well! Our models were the perfect fit for our shoot, and they did an amazing job! With help from our talented hair and make-up artist, as well as the right ‘fit (dress and suit vendors listed below) our models were transformed into their characters. I loved the elegant style Jesse did for our model, with the beautiful layers of soft curls, flawlessly placed, with just the right amount of loose wisps.
The floral hairpiece is so striking with the rich tones of red, burgundy and black. We used hydrangea, cymbidium orchids, ranunculus, scabiosa and anemone. With some of the delicate scabiosa stems sticking out slightly from the design, for a loose organic look that would have added a touch of playful movement to the piece.
Her stunning wrist corsage looks amaaaaazing. With contemporary wire as a base for this design we have big, burgundy gerpom daisies, dark plum ranunculus, hydrangea, cymbidium orchids and red hanging amaranthus. It is the perfect glamourous accessory for our gothic bride.
While Dracula’s hairstyle is simple, I’m sure Jesse worked some magic to have Dracula’s gorgeous mane of curly hair and facial hair looking tip top. Not going to lie – it is giving me a bit of Tamlin from ACOTAR…. Perhaps an idea for next year. He needed a little something too, of course. To keep with the drama, we went with an oversized boutonniere of exquisite cymbidium orchids, ranunculus and scabiosa accented with black ruscus. It created a nice pop of colour against his all-black attire.
