Alana and Dave’s Wonderland Wedding
I am thrilled to share with you Alana and Dave’s Wonderland Wedding! This wedding was so much fun to be a part of! How often do you get to design flowers for a vintage Alice in Wonderland theme?! It was so fun to work with florals with so much colour and whimsy!
First of all, let’s talk about that stunning bridal bouquet! It’s simply gorgeous! This long, natural cascading hand-tied bouquet featured a variety of flowers including quicksand roses, amnesia roses, dahlias, green hanging amaranthus, astilbe, succulents, and gold glittered craspedia. That’s right – we bedazzled those adorable billy buttons! Could they be any cuter?! This incredible bouquet was finished off with passionflower vine and eucalyptus greenery and the handle was tied with trailing ribbons. As for the bridal party, the bridesmaids carried simple hand-tied bouquets made of a cluster of pale pink astilbe. You gotta love mono-botanical bouquets! So pretty! The dapper gents wore unique and whimsical boutonnieres made with fiddleheads and gold craspedia. So fun!
For the outdoor ceremony, we designed arrangements for two urns and an archway. The urns were designed with gold mitsumoto branches along with a variety of blooms in matching style and colours to those in the bride’s bouquet. The archway featured small clustered blooms and greenery draped to create a whimsical feel. What a gorgeous focal point for the end of the aisle!
Now onto the reception! The archway florals from the ceremony were reused on the backdrop for the head table. This is such a great idea! Not only were those flowers enjoyed for a longer period of time, they also created a cohesive feel between events while being budget conscious! As for the centrepieces, tea set items overflowed with flowers and greens and were placed on books and amongst moss, vines, candles and fairy lights. Does this not totally remind you of Alice in Wonderland?! Ah! So perfect!
This wedding turned out so wonderfully! Cheers to the happy couple! Please enjoy these photos from Wild North Photo and Film.
