Brittany and Christopher’s Classic Autumn Wedding

Today I am excited to share with you Brittany and Christopher’s Classic Autumn Wedding. This beautiful fall wedding took place at Canyon Ski Resort complete with an outdoor ceremony and a cozy reception in the lodge. With timeless accents, plenty of cake and even a few sheep, this one’s for the books! Check out the details below!

First, the outdoor ceremony. What some may consider a bit risky in Alberta, others are willing to chance, for the promise of gorgeous foliage. The crisp autumn air may have been threatening snow but I think it was well worth it! While the ski hill (dotted with sheep) was the perfect fall canvas, a delicate garland strung on a simple wooden archway created a focal point at the end of the aisle. Furthermore, this piece was later placed along the mantel behind the head table at the reception. Also, the gorgeous wreaths that hung on the benches along the aisle were later re-used as a part of the centrepieces. We love getting creative with ways to re-use pieces throughout your special day!

Second, our beautiful bride, Brittany, wore a timeless satin dress while carrying a stunning hand-tied bouquet. This bridal bouquet was designed in a loose and natural style while still remaining round and not too wild. Created with dahlias, hearts garden roses, ranunculus, panda anemones, privett and rubus berries, eryngium, quicksand roses and eucalyptus, this bouquet was both classic and fun. You certainly can’t go wrong with roses but the ranunculus, anemones, berries and eryngium add a playful, whimsical touch. What a gorgeous bouquet!

In addition, the bridesmaids carried smaller bouquets that complimented the bridal bouquet but were made with less variety of flowers. Of course, this ensured the bride’s bouquet really stood out amongst the bunch!

Furthermore, the handsome groom and his dapper groomsmen wore “mini-bouquet” styled boutonnieres made of a single panda anenome, berries and greenery. These bouts were incredible! I just love anemones! Weren’t they gorgeous?

Finally, the reception. The big “wow factor” of the lodge was the gorgeous chandelier adorned with fresh salal greenery. Certainly eye catching! As previously mentioned, many of the floral decor pieces from the ceremony were relocated to the reception. The wreaths, for example, were placed in the centre of each table and then a cake topped with fresh blooms was placed amongst the greenery. What a great idea. Everyone had their fill of cake I’m sure! Also, I just love that the bride and groom each had their own “His” and “Hers” cakes! When you can’t share dessert, opt for your own! 😉
