Rebecca and Cody embraced a colourful wedding aesthetic that felt joyful, artistic and deeply personal. Rather than following a muted palette, they layered saturated florals against creamy satin and tailored black suiting. Consequently, every design choice carried movement, texture, and contrast without losing refinement.
Calyx Floral Design created garden inspired arrangements filled with peonies, ranunculus, poppies, sweet peas, chamomile, and airy branching accents. Moreover, each bouquet carried its own colour story, while still feeling cohesive beside the others. The result felt expressive yet curated, like a collection gathered directly from an overflowing summer garden.
Rebecca wore a sculptural ivory gown with a dramatic plunging neckline and fluid skirt. Additionally, her sleek veil and understated makeup balanced the bold florals surrounding her. Her bouquet featured a combination of coral, pinks, oranges, lavender, with accents of blue and trailing ivory ribbon. Together, the palette illuminated her striking dark hair and intricate tattoos beautifully.
Meanwhile, the bridesmaids wore champagne toned satin dresses with varied silhouettes that added dimension to the wedding party portraits. Instead of matching florals, they carried monochromatic bouquets in distinct palettes of yellow, blue and vibrant pink. That variation introduced personality while reinforcing the playful direction of the overall floral design.
Cody and the groomsmen contrasted the vivid blooms with classic black suits and crisp white shirts. Furthermore, colourful boutonnières echoed the bouquets through clustered ranunculus and textural floral accents. Their polished styling grounded the brighter palette without overpowering its energy.
Altogether, the day carried the feeling of stepping into sunlight after a long winter, warm, spirited, and entirely alive.
CEREMONY
The ceremony at River’s Edge unfolded beneath clear blue skies and late afternoon sunlight. Nestled along the North Saskatchewan River, the venue offered an atmosphere that felt open, relaxed and quietly cinematic. Meanwhile, mature trees, and rolling greenery softened the surrounding landscape with natural texture and movement.
Rebecca and Cody chose an outdoor setting that complemented the expressive palette carried throughout their colourful wedding. Rather than competing with the scenery, the floral designs layered naturally into the environment. Consequently, the ceremony space felt cohesive from every viewpoint.
Calyx Floral Design created aisle arrangements filled with peonies, ranunculus poppies, chamomile, sweet peas and airy branching accents. Clusters of coral, yellow, lilac and pink and blue blooms framed the aisle with a gathered garden feel. Additionally, the varied heights and asymmetrical placement introduced rhythm without appearing overly formal.
At the altar, a striking broken arch anchored the ceremony with structural movement and layered floral texture. One side climbed upward with concentrated blooms while grounded arrangements softened the opposite side. Furthermore, the installation balanced vibrant colour with negative space, allowing the surrounding prairie landscape to remain visible. The result felt contemporary yet organic, perfectly suited to a garden inspired wedding aesthetic.
Joy by Joelle coordinated the day seamlessly, ensuring every transition unfolded with ease throughout the afternoon. Meanwhile, Ash Maclean Photography documented the ceremony with a soft editorial approach that highlighted both the emotion and the atmosphere. Together, the vendor team created a setting that felt thoughtful, artistic and deeply personal.
As the ceremony opened beneath drifting summer light, every detail reflected the sense of freedom and wholehearted connection Rebecca and Cody carried into the day.
RECEPTION
Guests entered the tented reception at River’s Edge, they stepped into an immersive setting layered with colour, movement, and expressive floral artistry. The reception design embraced an organic rhythm that felt playful yet carefully refined. Calyx Floral Design carried the garden inspired wedding aesthetic into every corner of the space through airy floral groupings and a dramatic installation overhead.
Above the tables, suspended blooms floated from the canopy like scattered petals caught midair. Clusters of hanging arrangements anchored the instalment with peonies, ranunculus, roses and trailing greenery. Meanwhile, individual stems descended at varying heights creating depth and subtle movement across the reception space. The installation transformed the ceiling into a sculptural floral feature while maintaining an effortless atmosphere.
The guest tables balanced the softness with contemporary styling choices. Round tables featured abundant centrepieces filled with colourful garden blooms. In contrast, the rectangular harvest tables carried ikebana inspired centrepieces arranged between slender taper candles and delicate bud vases. Consequently the layered approach kept the colourful wedding palette cohesive without feeling overly uniform.
Throughout the reception, floral details echoed the relaxed elegance established earlier in the day. Garden roses mingled besides blooming branches, airy textures and seasonal blooms in saturated spring tones. Additionally, pale patterned linens and olive toned napkins grounded the brighter palette with an earthy softness. Special Event Rentals provided accents that complemented the floral direction while allowing the designs to remain the focal point.
Even the cake styling carried the same thoughtful approach. A vintage inspired buttercream cake sat atop a vivid pink linen besides a coral peony stem and glowing candlelight. Furthermore, the floral meadow installed along the head table added another immersive layer beneath the suspended blooms overhead.
Surrounded by colour, prairie skies, and the warmth of their closest people, Rebecca and Cody’s celebration felt entirely alive with joy.
