Courtney + Adam’s Winter Wedding in the Mountains
A winter wedding in the mountains is nothing short of enchanting. Against a gorgeous landscape of snow-covered peaks and rustic charm, this celebration was a perfect balance of romance and sophistication. The crisp air, cozy textures and rich florals created an atmosphere that felt both intimate and grand.
Our bride was radiant, draped in a flowing gown with delicate embroidery that moved effortlessly with her. A soft fur stole wrapped around her shoulders added warmth and an Old Hollywood charm, while her luminous make up and cascading waves framed her face beautifully. A sheer veil trailed behind her, completing her graceful look.
Her bouquet was a stunning hand-tied composition of ivory and burgundy roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, and delicate privet berries. Astrantia and eryngium lent a touch of texture, while eucalyptus and Italian ruscus added movement, creating a loose organic style with a polished look.
The bridesmaids were a striking complement in deep blue gowns, their silhouettes flowing elegantly against the winter backdrop. Matching fur stoles provided both style and warmth, while their bouquets, mirroring the bride’s, tied the look together with stunning seasonal blooms and lush greenery.
The groom was undeniably dashing in a sleek black suit, his sharp look softened by the admiration in his eyes as he gazed at his bride. His groomsmen, equally polished, completed the wedding party’s refined aesthetic. A subtle, yet striking detail, the groom and his groomsmen opted for a floral pocket boutonniere in place of a traditional pocket squares. Each a small, but artful arrangement! But beyond their impeccable attire, the true beauty of the day was in the way they celebrated – wrapped in love, surrounded by nature’s grandeur, and creating memories as breathtaking as their surroundings.
CEREMONY
As guests arrived, they were greeted by a stunning floral display atop an etched mirror, an elegant welcome, framed by lush winter greens, roses, ranunculus, lisianthus and pine cones. This thoughtful detail set the stage for the ceremony where nature and romance intertwined seamlessly.
Inside, the space was transformed into a warm, inviting retreat. At the end of the aisle, a breathtaking, asymmetrical floral installation framed the vows. It’s cascading winter foliage enriched with ivory and burgundy roses, pine cones, ranunculus, eryngium, privet berries and huck branches. Designed with depth and movement, it felt like a beautiful blending of organic essence and refinement.
Off to the side of the ceremony, a grand wood burning fireplace adding charm to the space. Crafted with natural stone and rich log details, it was a striking feature that perfectly complemented the rustic mountain setting. On top of mantel, an opulent floral arrangement echoed the splendour of the ceremony arch. Beautiful winter greens, with flowers matching the rest of the designs. The arrangement felt abundant yet artfully curated, adding another layer of visual harmony.
The aisle itself was a sensory experience. Fresh pine boughs lined the path, their scent mingling with the soft glow of pillar candles in delicate glass vases. Pine cones nestled among the greenery, enhancing the natural aesthetic while maintaining a sophisticated look. The golden chairs, flickering candlelight, and warm wood beams overhead created an atmosphere that was intimate yet grand.
As the bride walked toward her groom, the scene was nothing short of magical. The floral artistry, soft lighting and mountain backdrop combined to create a setting that was both breathtaking and deeply personal. Every detail worked in harmony to craft a moment that was not only visually stunning, but emotionally unforgettable.
RECEPTION
As the evening unfolded, the reception space glowed with warmth and refinement. The stately stone fireplace remained a focal point, adorned with its lush mantel arrangement and framed by the asymmetrical arch pieces from the ceremony. The cascading winter foliage and deep-toned florals created a seamless transition from vows to celebration, reinforcing the event’s enchanting ambience.
Positioned in front of the fireplace, the head table was a breathtaking sight. A phenomenal floral table runner spilled across its length – winter greens, crimson roses and pine cones with the soft glow of pillar candles in cylinder vases. Tea lights flickered between the blooms, illuminating the setting with an inviting charm.
Guest tables featured exquisite centrepieces arranged in opulent gold compote containers. Layers of seasonal greenery, Italian ruscus and eucalyptus paired beautifully with eryngium and huck branches to create rich depth and texture. Roses, ranunculus, privet berries and hellebores brought lavishness to the designs. As a thoughtful personal touch, a horseshoe nestled into each arrangement, honouring the bride’s deep love for horses – a meaningful detail woven beautifully into the décor.
Soft string lights draped from the wooden beams above, casting a delicate twinkle over the gold Chiavari chairs and crisp white linens. Every element, from the candlelit tables to the bespoke floral designs worked in perfect balance to create an atmosphere that was as intimate as it was extravagant. A celebration that felt as magical as the mountains that surrounded it.
