Day of the Dead Inspired Photoshoot
Steeped in symbolism and beauty, this Day of the Dead inspired shoot celebrates love, memory and transformation Set against a lush backdrop of greenery and candlelight, it tells a story that transcends time
Our couple embodies a balance of passion and reverence – dressed in striking black with vivid bursts of colour. The bride’s gown features a dramatic peekaboo floral panel of roses, daisies, chrysanthemums, carnations, and calla lilies in rich oranges and golds. Each bloom carefully chosen to reflect the warmth, and beauty of life’s cycle. Her intricate sugar skull make up and floral hair accents add a powerful layer of symbolism and grace.
Her groom’s look echoes the theme with bold contrast – a sharp suit adorned with an elaborate shoulder floral piece. Burnt orange calla lilies, gold mums and red spray roses form a striking extension of his presence. His half painted face symbolizes his grief for his lost love – so deep his heartsick – it leaves him only half alive. Together, they stand surrounded by cascading marigold garlands, colourful smoke filled air, and candlelit altars. The result is a visual poem where art, culture and emotion intertwine.
This shoot, which was featured on Bronte Bride, captures more than a style concept – it captures devotion. Every floral detail, from the sculpted altar cross to the hand-held fan of blooms was designed to evoke feeling. Vibrant hues, layered textures and thoughtful placement invite reflection on both beauty and strength of love
For us, it was an opportunity to re-imagine tradition through a modern floral lens. This Day of the Dead inspiration reminds us that love, like art, never truly fades – it simply transforms.
