Sarah and Braden’s Enchanted and Whimsical Wedding

Enchanted and Whimsical only begin to describe this amazing boho garden wedding! In classy white, green and gold colors this wedding boasted many stunning floral accents that I am excited to share with you.

Envision a beautiful June afternoon in a gorgeous backyard, overlooking the Red Deer River. The guests arrive at the ceremony wowed by the amazing 7-foot-tall x 6 foot across floral archway.  The archway was designed with fresh blooms of hydrangea, peonies, roses and greenery across the top and white snapdragons, dendrobium orchids together with a variety of white hanging silk wisteria blooms, provided by the bride, trailing down the sides. This definitely gave a whimsical enchanted feel to the ceremony.

Two arrangements that matched the archway were placed at the start of the aisle.  The bases were created with a selection of foraged foliage mixed in with gorgeous olive branches. Fresh hydrangea, peony and rose blooms were tucked into the greenery and white snapdragons, delphinium and dendrobium orchids were added for the upwards elements.  To give the arrangements the boho feel, bleached italian ruscus and pampas grass were added.

Our stunning bride carried a natural hand tied bouquet designed in a loose and natural style with a slight oblong shape. The bouquet was made with a variety of white blooms including sweet pea, playa blanca rose, lisianthus, ranunculus and peony.  To fill out the bouquet Jasmine vine, olive, bleached bunny tail and dusty miller were used.  The bouquet’s handle was wrapped with ivory silk ribbon and had a variety of ivory trailing silks.

Made to perfectly compliment their dresses, the bridesmaids’ bouquets were made smaller than the brides with more greenery and designed with a variety of white blooms including sweet pea, playa blanca rose, lisianthus, ranunculus and peonies.  The adorable flower girl wore a small and delicate tie-back floral crown designed with a mix of greenery and boho elements with accents of small white spray rose blooms, tied with a white satin ribbon.

Her handsome Groom wore a small cluster of white spray roses accented by bleached italian ruscus, olive and jasmine greenery and wrapped with a simple ivory silk ribbon to match the bride’s bouquet. The groomsmen, fathers and grandfather wore a single white spray rose accented by olive and jasmine greenery and wrapped with a simple ivory silk ribbon. The mothers and grandmothers wore wrist corsages designed with a small cluster of white spray roses accented by olive and jasmine greenery and a touch of silk ribbon.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Occams Razor located in the trendy downtown Red Deer.  This venue has been compared to the 1920’s speakeasy bars.   The decor together with the low light and cozy atmosphere made for a relaxed and intimate evening.  There were many floral accents that added to the boho theme.  Firstly, an arrangement made from some of the ceremony archway was re-designed incorporating the bride’s neon sign. Also from the archway, the head table was decorated with the top of the arch arrangement that stretched nicely across the table.  Bud vases with a variety of greenery, white blooms and boho elements were placed throughout and the real showstoppers were the compote vases that sat on the long skinny bar tables, designed in a natural loose and wild style and made with a mix of white blooms, boho elements and greenery.

I hope you enjoyed hearing about this Enchanted and Whimsical wedding.
