Calyx Floral Design Favourite Bridal Bouquets of 2017

Last year was a pretty amazing year for flowers; lets take a look at some of our Favourite Bridal Bouquets of 2017!

Each year, as I’m going through the amazing photos we have received from our photoshoots, past brides and their photographers I feel like I have the opportunity to re-live the awesomeness of their flowers!  I just have to share some of my favourites with you.

Definitely on trend with the ‘greenery’ Pantone colour of the year, most of my faves were filled to overflowing with lush trailing eucalyptus greens, I have a feeling 2018 is going to be just as greenery filled (yay!).  Another common element was succulents, in shades of rich deep purple, to mint green, grey and pale blush pink (yes! for real!!… her name is Lola … she was a showgirl… Sorry, I got off track;)  But, honestly the most stunning succulents I have ever seen, and they really are called Lola!

And colour!  Colour has absolutely made a comeback!  From bright coral peonies to deep plum scabiosa (horrible name right?… but honestly, the most beautiful flowers!) and luxurious burgundy dahlia, color is everywhere!

The other thing that caught my eye?  No longer am I designing all bouquets as simple, round and compact – yes, there are a few of these, and trust me this style remains close to my heart –  but large, wild and free boho bouquets have become equally as common.  We even designed one bouquet hanging from a copper hoop! (why not? right?)  Adding unique elements such as pampas grass, trailing passionflower vine and curly willow are sure ways to add softness and flow to your bridal bouquet.
