At the heart of Calyx Floral Design is Travis – our fearless leader, visionary, and the hardest worker in the room. With an incredible ability to turn dreams into reality, Travis leads by example, inspiring our team with her creativity, passion and relentless pursuit of excellence. As the mastermind behind our signature style, and the builder of all the flawless systems that keep everything running smoothly, she is both the architect and the driving force of our floral family.
Travis’ leadership is marked by a rare blend of ambition and genuine care. She not only pushes us to grow and embrace new challenges but does so with a kindness that makes Calyx Floral Design feel less like a workplace and more like a second home. A lemon tree, kept in ideal and consistent conditions I thrive but when my surroundings are adjusted, it throws me for a loop.
ERIN
Erin is the heart and humour behind our social media and is Travis’ right-hand woman. As one of the original team members, she’s been part of the Calyx family for 11 years, bringing her wit, charm and unwavering support every step of the way. Her bond with Travis is the stuff of best-friend goals – effortless, loyal and full of laughter. Whether she’s curating stunning posts, or stepping in to help wherever she is needed, Erin’s dedication and infectious energy make her truly irreplaceable.

Anything outdoors in the sunshine or traveling to new places – I’m not great at sitting still

I love having a job where each day brings something new and constantly growing my skills. The best part though? Getting to work with my best friends!

LOIS
When she isn’t tending to her yard, chickens or doting on her grandbabies, Lois is the professional administrative assistant who keeps everything at Calyx Floral Design running smoothly. With her warm, caring nature and knack for making everyone feel seen and supported, she’s the mama of our crew. Lois is a generous spirit and knows how to get people to open up, always ready with a question and a smile. Her ability to keep us organized – while cheer us on every step of the way – make her truly invaluable.

For the past 9 years, Jana has been a ray of sunshine at Calyx Floral Design, brightening our days with her humour, creativity and genuinely caring heart. Her passion for giving her all shines through in every stunning design she creates – especially her gorgeous dried floral arrangements. When she is not working her magic with blooms, she is quick with a smile, laugh or warm hug, making both our clients and our team feel instantly at ease. Her dedication and vibrant spirit are truly a gift to us all.

LEIGHA
Leigha has been a cherished part of the Calyx Floral Design family for 3 years, bringing her soft, gentle nature and caring heart to everything she does. All of our funerals are under her care, where her compassion and sensitivity shine through in every detail. While she may not be the most talkative, her kindness speaks volumes. Leigha is often quietly working behind the scenes, keeping us organized, making sure we are stocked up, and designing beautiful arrangements with a calm and steady hand. A lover of nature, cats and good music, she shines in one-on-one moments – like road trip deliveries where her thoughtful spirit truly comes to life

Catnip if I were a plant or a wild cactus flower because I’m both pretty and prickly and require lots of sun 🌵
ALYA
Originally from Ukraine, Alya is a true artist with an exceptional eye for colour and design. As our primary designer for the cooler and customer orders, her talent shines in every arrangement she creates. When she’s not working with flowers, Alya’s creativity continues at home, designing beautiful jewelry and accessories. Always dressed impeccably, she effortlessly pulls off the coolest outfits. Her cheerful nature, warm smiles and friendly greetings make clients feel instantly welcome. With her sweet heart and helpful spirit we feel truly blessed to have Alya as part of the Calyx Floral Design family.

HEATHER
Heather may be our part time helper and junior designer, but her impact at Calyx Floral Design is anything but small. With a beauty that shines both inside and out, she brings a caring heart, gentle spirit and a willingness to help wherever she’s needed – whether it’s watering and re-potting plants, washing buckets, processing flowers or learning the art of floral design. Her eagerness to grow has made her a quick study, and her progress has been truly impressive! We hope she knows just how much of an asset and valued member of our team she truly is.

Fun fact! There is a plant named Heather! Calluna vulgaris in the Ericaceae family, “heather” is a low growing, flowering evergreen shrub with colours ranging from white and pink to deep purple. It symbolizes good luck, admiration and protection
KATRINA
Since 2015, Katrina has been part of the Calyx Floral Design team in different capacities. She has been sharing the stories behind our blooms through her beautiful blog posts, while also lending her talents as a part time florist during busy wedding weekends and holidays. Her chatty nature and infectious loud laugh bring a burst of joy to our team – a caring and supportive group of women she feels lucky to work with. Whether she’s arranging flowers, doing prep work, sweeping the floors, bringing in baked treats, or brainstorming solutions, Katrina’s enthusiasm and willingness to help make her a valuable part of the family.

A plant that is low maintenance, loves the sun, enjoyable, a good support/filler flower…. But generally a bit of a mess 😅
LUCY
Last, but certainly not least, Lucy is the newest member of the Calyx Floral Design family. If her charming English accent doesn’t win you over, her dedicationg to making every customer’s experience exceptional surely will. As the face of our front-end, Lucy is a genius at helping clients find the perfect gift, elevating the shopping experience with her keen eye and warm approach. Her experience working with other luxury brands – and her insights from her travels – have been invaluable in training our team. Friendly, easy to talk to, and always quick with a joke, Lucy is truly a delight to have in our floral family!

When I’m off I absolutely love to get a dinner slow cooking away, clean my house, head for a big walk and finish off somewhere for a cocktail before dinner is ready!

Working with such talented people, I’m still in awe of the designs they create and everyone there is so fun and kind.
- Your favourite flower this year?
I love working with all the Christmas greenery! It smells amazing and so long lasting. Im definitely loving a huge greenery centerpiece for the holiday season! I love ranunculus too, they are so pretty and the colours are beautiful.
- Unpopular opinion?
People never make Greek salad correctly! It shouldn’t have lettuce in it!
- If you were a flower or plant, what would you be?
Growing up in Greece, I have always loved olive trees. They are just a beautiful tree, and the older they get the more gnarly looking they become. Similarly they adore the sun like I do, and enjoy basking away in a Mediterranean Climate
