CEREMONY
Set within the storied architecture of the Fairmont Banff Springs, this wedding embraced colour, romance, and a distinctly garden-inspired aesthetic. Soft champagne tones created an elegant foundation, while layers of fresh greenery brought the surrounding Alberta landscape indoors. Against this neutral palette, coral, lavender, blush, blue, and cream added an expressive wash of colour.
Calyx Floral Design created the florals with a loose, gathered quality that felt abundant without becoming overly formal. Coral Charm peonies provided vibrant focal points alongside romantic roses and delicate ranunculus. Meanwhile, blue delphinium introduced graceful vertical movement throughout the designs. Sculptural allium added height and an unexpected touch of whimsy.
For the ceremony, garden-inspired aisle arrangements appeared to grow organically from the stone floor. Lush foliage softened the aisle, while groupings of white lanterns added warmth and dimension. Together, these details created an immersive pathway toward the ceremony backdrop.
At the end of the aisle, a floral-heavy circular arch framed the couple in layers of foliage and seasonal blooms. Roses, delphinium, Coral Charm peonies, allium, and ranunculus wove throughout the installation. Airy stems extended beyond the arch, creating movement rather than a rigid outline.
The result felt romantic yet spirited, with refined details balanced by the natural looseness of a flourishing summer garden.
RECEPTION
The celebration continued inside Mount Stephen Hall at the Fairmont Banff Springs, one of the hotel’s most distinguished reception spaces. Soaring ceilings, carved stone arches, and historic architectural details created a dramatic backdrop for an immersive floral design.
Overhead, existing chandeliers became abundant floral installations. Cascading greenery and lavender delphinium transformed each fixture, drawing the eye upward and emphasizing the grandeur of the room. Meanwhile, layers of foliage traced the surrounding stone arches, softening the architecture while celebrating its scale.
Throughout the reception, colourful centrepieces brought a garden-inspired feeling to champagne-draped tables. Roses and ranunculus mingled with Coral Charm peonies, delphinium, and sculptural allium. Airy greenery connected the varied textures, while tall glass hurricanes and pink taper candles added height and warm illumination.
The head table became another focal point. An asymmetrical floral arch rose behind the table, creating a lush frame against Mount Stephen Hall’s towering windows. Below, flowers spilled generously across the table and continued onto the floor. This layered installation featured coral, blush, lavender, blue, and cream blooms nestled among rich foliage.
Elsewhere, thoughtful floral moments carried the design through the entire room. A flower-filled arch marked the hall’s entrance, creating an immediate sense of arrival. Greenery and white lanterns climbed the nearby steps, guiding guests further into the celebration.
Additionally, a floral installation framed the live violinist’s podium with garden flowers, greenery, and softly glowing lanterns. Petite bud vases dressed cocktail tables, while foliage accented the bar and photo booth.
Finally, delicate blooms adorned the hand-painted mountain cake, echoing its soft watercolour palette. Together, each detail transformed this iconic Fairmont Banff Springs wedding venue into an abundant indoor garden.
