This spring’s open house showcased why Hilltop has become a favourite among Central Alberta couples. The beautifully maintained grounds looked stunning in the sunshine, with every hole, garden and ceremony site carefully tended. Guests had the chance to explore multiple ceremony locations, each with its own charm – from open lawns framed by trees with water views to more intimate, tucked away settings.

Inside the contemporary tented reception space, visitors experienced how easily the venue adapts to different styles and colour palettes. Whether your vision leans rustic, romantic or modern, Hilltops flexible layout and neutral finishes make it effortless to bring any theme to life. The open house featured both rectangular and round table setups, complete with different styling options and price points. Each design highlighted how versatile the space can be for every budget and aesthetic.

Beyond the beautiful setting, what truly stood out was the professionalism and warmth of the Hilltop team. Jennie and her staff greeting guests with enthusiasm, offering thoughtful advice and guidance throughout the day. Their dedication and attention to detail reflected the care that couples can expect from the first inquiry to the final toast.

CALYX FLOWERS

For the open house, our team had the joy of creating stunning floral designs that showcased the incredible versatility of flowers. Each piece was thoughtfully designed to demonstrate what’s possible at different price points, ensuring that beauty is always within reach.

At the more price-conscious end, we featured simple yet impactful designs that brought effortless elegance to the space. A single arch piece at the pond ceremony site added romance and charm without overwhelming the natural surroundings. Inside, a modern and airy ikebana centrepiece graced the round table setup, offering a sculptural, artistic option perfect for intimate gatherings. Rectangular tables displayed how multiple ikebana arrangements could elevate the look while maintaining a refined, minimalist aesthetic.

For couples dreaming of a grander statement, we also showcased our more elaborate floral options. The Lakeview ceremony site featured a breathtaking cluster of arrangements on pillars, filled with texture, movement and rich, layered colour. These lush florals framed the view beautifully, creating a truly picture perfect ceremony backdrop. Inside the reception tent, full floral centrepieces and an exquisite head table design captivated every guest. Flowers cascaded in a graceful waterfall down the table, blending romance, abundance and artistry in one unforgettable display.

Our colour palette featured rich tones and layered textures balanced against neutral linens and clean lines, creating visual depth and timeless appeal. Each bloom was chosen to compleent the natural beauty of Hilltop’s grounds and the season’s palette.

As always, our leader, Travis Mills, broght every idea to life with unmatched creativity. Her gift for pairing colour, form and feeling ensures every design – whether simple or extravagant – reflects you unique vision and celebrates your day beautifully.

A CELEBRATION OF COLLABORATION

No open house is complete without the incredible local talent that helps bring every detail to life. This event was truly a team effort, and we’re so grateful for the many professionals who made Hilltop’s open house such a success.

First, a huge thank you to Engaged by Darcie for aplying her creative vision and tying every element together beautifully. Darcie has an exceptional eye for design and always knows how to add thoughtful touches that elevate the overall aesthetic. The sweet photo of the dream team – Darcie, Jennie and Travis – perfectly captures the collaboration and joy behind the day.

We were also thrilled to have Copper Cloud Events, whose rental collection added the perfect finishing details. Their beautiful selection of linens, charger plates, glassware and cutlery helped demonstrate how these small choices can transform a table setting from simple to stunning. Every piece complemented the florals and venue style perfectly.

Red Deer Catering impressed guests with their seamless professionalism and delicious food. Their seasoned team worked efficiently while ensuring every dish looked and tasted incredible. Adding to the fun, Roadpop Event Bar Co. kept spirits high with creative cocktails that were as cute as they were tasty – a fun experience for guests.

Meanwhile, Rhino DJ set the mood with the perfect playlist, creating an atmosphere that flowed effortlessly. And though she stayed behind the camera, Court Amber Photography captured every beautiful moment with her signature eye for detail.
