Hilltop Wedding Center Open House 2024

A long tablescape featuring beautiful pastel compote centrepieces down the length of the table, and a waterfall of pastel hydrangea blooms cascading down the front of the table.

Recently Hilltop Wedding Center hosted an Open House, a fabulous opportunity for future couples to check out their stunning property. With multiple picturesque ceremony site options, immaculate grounds and a fabulous reception tent – Hilltop has a lot to offer!

We were delighted to get to be the florist for this event to hopefully inspire future couples with the possibilities at Hilltop! Copper Cloud Events provided all the spectacular rentals, from the chic linens to the ornate glassware. Lastly, Jessica at Candid Connections Photography did a marvelous job capturing photos of all of the designs, I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do! Let’s get started!

We did two ceremony set ups. First, a more basic, budget friendly option. We had a simple wooden archway with a lovely floral feature in the upper right corner.  This is an excellent way to add a beautiful, floral element with impact, without having to go over the top. These are often transferable to the reception where they may be used again behind the head table, or as part of a photobooth.

The second ceremony was a more luxe set up. Lining the aisle in a soft waving pattern, we had hundreds of roses set up, appearing to be growing out of the ground. The effect was magical, and you can imagine with aromatic blossoms it would add a very special effect for you and your guests during the ceremony!

The end of the aisle was framed by a cluster of white pillars, adorned in several arrangements full of pastel blooms. Along with the lake view, it looked very pretty and romantic.  This set up was perfection, with room to accommodate different budgets.

In the reception tent, we wanted to showcase a number of different price points with the centrepieces so that brides of all budgets could be inspired! Having flowers throughout the room does has a way of elevating what is already a magical day. We understand the importance of staying within your budget for the planning process and want to work with you to find a meeting point between your budget and your flower goals.

For this option we stay simple and elegant with white roses with reflexed outer petals in assorted bud vases. The most cost effective is to go with a round table with a grouping of 3-5 budvases with either individual blooms or mini clusters. This look is made complete with the addition of a couple candles for ambience.

You can level this look up by going with long tables instead and having the bud vases run down the length of the table. For this event the round tables had just 3 roses, and the long tables had 48 so it is easy to see you could increase or decrease this number according to your budget. This look keeps both the product and labour levels lower while still adding visual interest.

For this option we designed beautiful arrangements into golden compote containers. We used a mixture of blooms in soft tones designed with an organic style. One way to keep cost in check is by using more foliage/filler type flowers that would fill things in and add size without being as expensive as being entirely made up of flowers.

Same as the previous one, you can add on to this by using long tables and doing a number of arrangements down the length of the table. At the open house we did 1 arrangement on the round tables, and 8 on the long tables. So pretty!!

Lastly, our luxe centrepieces! These bad boys feature a wreath like design full of gorgeous pastel blooms in a natural style. From the center of the wreath is a large candelabra with long white tapers. The added height with the candelabra and tapers would add to the overall size of the centrepieces, which would then add to the impact they have.

This option is aaaaaamazing. An alternative would be creating large arrangements on top of stands on the center of the table, which again would increase the size/impact of the arrangements.

Of course, you can do a mixture of these! By having even some tables with large centrepieces it will really have a luxurious feel, without needing to have them on EVERY table. So long as the overall look and feel of the arrangements is consistent you can mix things up!

On top of the different centrepiece options, we designed a number of other floral elements to jazz up the reception space.

One addition is the greenery to the chandeliers. Here we used Italian Ruscus which is this stunning, lush foliage. It adds an earthy element that livens up the space and encourages your eyes to travel throughout the whole room, rather than staying at eye level.

The head table was actually set up as a sweetheart table. I love sweetheart tables! It creates a really nice intimate space for the bride and groom to just take a breather and enjoy each other’s company for the duration of dinner.

On the table we designed a longer, lower centrepiece full of the pastel flowers. The low profile doesn’t obstruct the couples view, while still adding charm. Behind the table we had a cool, mod backdrop made up, the design from Engaged by Darcie. That sagey green colour, swoon!

Of course, we couldn’t leave the backdrop bare! More arrangements made for the backdrop were full of delphinium, stock, hydrangea, roses, carnations, lisianthus, scabiosa and forget me nots. The whole look is so handsome with a cozy vibe to it with the soft edges and colours. I love this look, it makes a perfect setting and, obviously, great for photos too!

Lastly, my favourite design with the big, fluffy waterfall of giant hydrangea in shades of pink, blue and white cascading over the side of the table. This feature is delicious, like a pillowy cloud that also looks like ice cream. It is over the top breath taking and is sure to capture the attention of everyone who comes in the room. A feature like this is guaranteed to leave an impression and is the perfect way to highlight a special area of the room.

The flower possibilities are endless! We hope these photos sparked some excitement and ideas for you own wedding and looking forward to planning with you soon!
