Jill and Clint’s Magical Harry Potter Themed Wedding

Some of our couples lean more to the rich dark moody colors when choosing their color schemes. I would like to tell you about Jill and Clint’s Magical Harry Potter themed wedding that took place at the intimate Heritage ranch date night room.  The colours true to their theme were deep reds, purples, and hints of gold.

A stunning natural hand tied bouquet was designed for Jill boasting individually placed flowers that stood out against a variety of grey toned greenery. The bouquet was designed in a loose and natural oblong shape with lots of loose elements tucked throughout.  The blooms were in deep reds, plums and burgundy tones with tucks of gold to accent the deep burgundy.  The flowers included were black baccara roses, deep plum blackberry scoop scabiosa, burgundy and plum ranunculus, plum sweet peas and a few tucks of gold craspedia.  The mixed greenery incorporated was seeded, silver dollar and gunni eucalyptus and burgundy agonis. The handle was finished off will with a simple deep burgundy satin wrap and the bride’s ‘winged’ key.

Clint wore a small mini-bouquet style boutonnière designed with a cluster of small blooms and greenery taken from the bride’s bouquet, including a single gold craspedia ball with gold ruscus leaves to accent.  The stem was wrapped in alternating burgundy and gold to resemble his tie stripes.  The bride’s winged key was also attached to the stem.

Additional boutonnières were designed with a deep burgundy ranunculus bloom and greenery taken from the bride’s bouquet. Corsages were also designed with a deep burgundy ranunculus bloom and greenery taken from the bride’s bouquet on a gold metal bracelet.

Furthering the Harry Potter theme the ceremony and reception area featured a single large arrangement of fresh greenery and blooms that sat at the mid right side of the heritage ranch fireplace mantel weaving in amongst the bride’s lettered signage.  Greenery such as salal, seeded and silver dollar eucalyptus and agonis were used to create a full and natural base.  Atop this was placed a variety of deep burgundy, plum blooms and tucks of gold plumosa added throughout. Sitting at the base of the fireplace, greenery was woven amongst candles and crates with the focal point being the rustic “witches broom” that was spruced up using plumosa, italian ruscus, burgundy dahlias, garden roses and black baccara roses.

Placed throughout the room were four gold compotes sporting greenery such as salal, seeded and silver dollar eucalyptus and agonis creating a full and natural base.  Atop this a variety of deep burgundy and plum blooms were added to match those used throughout the wedding.

Displayed on top of stacked old trunks and suitcases was a magnificent bird cage accented with blooms in plum and black with a white accent together with seeded eucalyptus and gold plumosa. The blooms and greenery were designed on a magnet back that was easily added onto the cage.  Florals were also placed at the top right and lower left side of the display as well.  Upon them a single arrangement designed in a gold chalice compote created with fresh greenery and blooms sat.

Decked out in a spectacular fashion the 16-foot reception table was done up with tucks of gold plumosa, loose blooms and greenery placed along the table runner and several bud vases filled with a collection of moody blooms placed along it.  Above the table a live edge board with hanging candles and fresh greenery draped across the top added to the enchanting setting.

Lastly the finishing touch to the evening was the eye catching single tiered cake that was accented by a few black and plum blooms that were designed as a cake corsage. Greenery was used to ‘frame’ the flowers ensuring that the dark blooms didn’t get lost against the dark fondant of the cake.
