Old World Spring Photo Shoot in Peach

Hey everyone, today we are sharing with you a beautiful Old World inspired spring photo shoot in peach (colour of the year!) and blush! I hope you guys aren’t sick of peach just yet, because we are loving it. Paired with soft pinks and rich greens creates this pretty, fresh, and romantic feel that is perfect for spring!

Getting the opportunity to collaborate with other local wedding professionals for a photo shoot is always fun! It gives us a chance to get creative, play around with new colour palettes, design styles and/or trends.

It is a really neat experience teaming up with other wedding industry folks. Central Alberta is full of some really talented individuals and we always love getting to meet new (or new to us!) local wedding people. Plugging in to a hive mind with a group of creative, inspired people to come up with plans is SO fun. And finally, even more fun than the planning, is seeing it all come together. We loved getting to work on this shoot, and hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

FLOWERS

We designed three pieces – the bouquet, a long arrangement for the mantel and another large floral arrangement on a decorative stand. With peach being colour of the year, we wanted to showcase it, and accented it with blush, white and lush greenery.

For the bridal bouquet, we tried out a style that is trending. A hand tied design, natural in style with a bit of a whimsical feel with more delicate stems sticking out, creating playful movement – with minimal greenery. This style is perfect for spring and summer with an abundance of sweet, dainty blooms available.

We created this look blush roses, ranunculus (blush, butterfly and peach), champagne lisianthus, peach carnations and white sweet peas. The bouquet was finished off with a soft cluster of trailing beautiful silk pastel ribbons.

The arrangement on the mantle has a very natural feel with the abundance lush greens spilling over the side and trailing on to the floor. With the more upright placement of the flowers, it almost has a feeling of flowers growing out a window box. All the flowers match those in the bridal bouquet.

Next, we designed a large, full arrangement to sit next to the fireplace on top of a solid, neutral toned stand. This arrangement is a chonky boi and I love it. Along with the pretty pastel blooms and lush greens we have the amazing texture of the feathery soft pampas grass. This arrangement has a lot of visual weight and makes for a stunning statement piece.

Lastly, we provided an assortment of loose blooms to match the rest of the floral pieces, along with some sprigs of greenery. These were used in little clusters for the flat lay shots of all the stationary, jewelry and accessories to really make them pop.

DETAILS

Let’s cover some of these details shall we!

The venue was The Study Studios which is located in Calgary and is such a neat space! It captured our ‘old world’ feel with the charming details like the worn wood flooring, incredible natural light, and faux fireplace feature.

Our model bride, Uliana, is enchanting and she was sensational in this shoot! In addition to Uliana being naturally gorgeous, we also had a little help from French Braiding for hair and Glam and Beyond for make up. Both of which did a fabulous job!

The dress was an absolute knock out. The bodice adorned in floral lace, the billowy detached sleeves with cuffs, and oodles of layers of soft organza for the skirt are all sooooo glamorous and romantic. Thank you to Novia Mia Bridal for supplying this beauty!

We got an assortment of exquisite accessories to go with that dress. The beautiful crown and ornate earrings were handcrafted bridal pieces by Joanna Bisley Designs. She has a ton of amazing unique pieces, definitely check her out! The rings and wedding bands were breathtaking and provided by Lawlor Jewelry  from Stettler.

Last, but not least, the stunning stationary is by Debbie Wong Design. I love the details with her work – the wax seals, delicate silk ribbon ties, and calligraphy. Perfect old world touches.
