Leigha + Tyler’s Spring Rainbow Ombre Wedding

Some weddings feel especially close to our hearts, and Leigha and Tyler’s celebration was certainly one of them.
For five years, Leigha has been an invaluable part of the Calyx Floral Design team. She is a gifted floral designer, but her contribution extends far beyond the flowers she creates.
Leighta is often the quiet force keeping busy seasons moving forward. She organizes, prepares, anticipates what comes next, and somehow remembers where everything lives. Her behind the scenes work gives the entire team more space to create when design days become especially full.
She also brings a thoughtful steadiness to the people around her. Leigha listens carefully, considers thoughtfully before answering, and generously makes room for endless questions and ideas from, especially from certain chaotic team members (me). Her sensitive, caring nature is paired with an extraordinary work ethic. She arrives early, stays when needed, and gives each task her full attention.
Away from the shop, that gentle spirit follows her outdoors, Leigha loves wildflowers, nature photography, concerts, adventures, her beloved cats and of course, family.
So seeing her become Tyler’s wife felt particularly meaningful.
And what a bride she was!
Every detail felt unmistakably Leigha. Her intricate lace gown was artistic, stylish, fit her like a glove and absolutely stunning. Soft curls, delicate make up and her colourful garden bouquet completed the look.
Most importantly, Leigha herself authentically shone through it all: warm, creative, gentle, quietly cool and completely radiant.
PORTRAITS
Spring colour took centre stage throughout this playful rainbow ombre wedding. Soft pastels moved from peach and pink into fresh green, blue and lavender. Rather than blending everything together, thoughtful colour blocking gave each shade its own moment.
The bridesmaids wore different pastel tones, creating a relaxed spectrum of colour alongside the bride. Their bouquets continued the effect, with flowers selected to complement each individual dress. Peach ranunculus and roses, blue delphinium, viburnum, amaranthus, hellebores, stock, sweet peas, anthurium and trailing clematis brought the palette together. Each arrangement felt distinct while remaining connected to the larger floral story.
Against this wash of colour, Leigha looked incredible in her boldly patterned lace gown. The warm neutral lining allowed the detailed white lacework to stand out beautifully. Meanwhile, the groom brought an equally individual approach to his wedding day look. A dark vest rolled back formality and visible tattoos felt alternative and authentic. His groomsmen echoed that easy approach with crisp white shirts, black trousers, and suspenders.
For their portraits, the couple embraced settings with just as much personality. At Buffalo Lake Campground, sandy stretches and spring woodlands created a striking backdrop. The open landscape let those delicate pastels shine against earthy, natural surroundings.
However, some of our favourite photographs came from somewhere far more personal: her grandma’s basement. Wood panelling, vintage furniture and warm retro details created an incredible time-capsule setting. The contrast feels quirky, nostalgic, and completely their own.
These portraits capture more than a beautiful spring wedding. They capture two people who let colour, humour and personality lead the way.
CEREMONY
Set on a beautiful family farm, their ceremony felt as though it belonged within the pages of a storybook. Beneath a tree heavy with spring blossoms, the couple exchanged vows surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
Rather than introducing a traditional ceremony arch, we let the flowering tree become part of the design. Floral installations immersed in its twisting branches and appeared to grow naturally from the landscape below. Meanwhile, low arrangements swept across the grass, gently defining the ceremony space.
Colour moved through the installations in a loose rainbow ombre. Soft blue and green transitioned to lavender, pink, peach and coral. This colour blocking gave each shade its own movement while creating a beautifully cohesive composition.
Spring flowers added layers of movement, texture and personality throughout the designs. Delphinium, hydrangea, roses, peonies, orchids, anthurium, allium, trailing amaranthus brought the pastel palette to life. Tall stems reached upward while delicate flowers spilled downward, echoing the organic shapes of the blossoming branches.
Most importantly, the setting felt wonderfully personal. Family and friends gathered closely around the couple, with even the family pets joining the celebration. The result felt intimate, heartfelt and entirely their own.
Afterwards, everyone continued to a sweet local hall for the reception. Although the evening wasn’t photographed, the celebration carried on with good food, drinks and plenty of merriment. It was simply a gathering of people who loved them, there to celebrate what came next.
On a perfect spring day, beneath branches burning into bloom, two people began a new season surrounded by everything that mattered most. Congratulations, Leigha and Tyler!
