Tianna + Mitchell‘s Trendy Baby’s Breath Wedding
I am so excited to share with you all today, this absolute stunner – Tianna & Mitchell’s stylish baby’s breath wedding! The floral vibe for this wedding is so popular right now, full of soft fluffy clouds of baby’s breath and rich in texture! The Calyx team is loving this look and we hope you do too! Flowers aside, this wedding was planned out beautifully with a soft colour palette and chic details.
I do want to start by saying I was struck by the level of joy and love captured in Lindsay Nickel’s photos. I loved the fun shots of them with the champagne and running under the “bridge” made by their wedding party. More importantly, the impossible to ignore huge smiles from both Tianna and Mitchell. You can feel how happy they were for their big day, and I found it really touching.
Tianna was absolutely radiant. If her gorgeous smile wasn’t enough, how about her dress!! Wowza. The stunning texture of the floral details, the layered look, the soft look of the flared bottom, the detached sleeves and it fit her like a glove. Perfection.
To compliment such an exquisite dress, we made a slightly smaller bouquet that was also full of yummy texture! Her bouquet was white and ivory with a hint of blush with the roses. Other flowers included lisianthus, ranunculus, sweet peas, bleach ruscus and, of course, baby’s breath which added some fabulous movement. It was designed with a slightly elongated shape, with a natural, organic style and was wrapped with an ivory silk ribbon.
The bridesmaid’s bouquets were a simple design of baby’s breath and roses. The baby’s breath creating fluffy clouds to match the bridal bouquet and compliment the champagne tone of their dresses! Super elegant!
CEREMONY
The ceremony was *chef’s kiss.* Hilltop Wedding Center has several outdoor ceremony locations available for their clients, and I think this one near the fountain might have to be my favourite. They do such a wonderful job maintaining their grounds, the natural setting is always flawless!
The guests were greeted by a beautiful display with a pillar, lovely welcoming sign, bud vase arrangements and accented with the piece of natural stone.
The aisle design is stunning! We created the illusion of a low “floral hedge” lining the length of the aisle for a luxurious look. To do this we designed elongated arrangements in white, ivory and nude tones in low containers. These were evenly spaced down the aisle and in-between them also tucked water picked roses right into the ground. The look is so lush and pretty, and even better – secretly practical! The arrangements were later used as centrepieces at the reception, making them provide great value. It’s basically the equivalent of dress having pockets!
At the end of the aisle were two pairs of contemporary white pillars. We created an asymmetrical design by having one side with an arrangement on each of the pillars, and the other side having one on the highest pillar and one on the ground. These arrangements were designed with flowers to match the rest of the wedding with an airy, organic style with billowing pieces of baby’s breath. Same as the aisle arrangements, all these floral pieces were transferred to the reception to highlight a few areas.
RECEPTION
The reception at Hilltop was also a 10/10. I think it looked so romantic with so many beautiful textural elements. The soft billowy table runners, the linen napkins, even the details of the glassware. Along with the wood element of the long tables it felt very cozy and homey in a luxurious way. It looked fabulous and I am sure they had the best time celebrating!
Keeping with that romantic vibe, the room was FULL of floral elements and candlelight. There were a mixture of round tables and long buffet style tables. The round tables were adorned with an elegant tablecloth and one of the elongated arrangements that had been use for the aisle hedge. The long tables got a few of the elongated arrangements with pairs of budvases between them. Each bud vase arrangement was a little different, with a couple blooms to match those used in the wedding.
As I previously mentioned, the arrangements from the pillars at the ceremony were also brought over and were used in several areas including the guestbook table, cake table and at the easel by the bar.
We also created a few new pieces for the reception. At the corner of the seating chart, we designed a small arrangement. We used roses, spray roses, scabiosa, lisianthus, ranunculus, baby’s breath and bleached ruscus. Super cute!
Lastly, we made up a little something for the cake! Their cake was a simple, elegant two-tiered design. We made up a “cake corsage” of spray roses and baby’s breath to sit on top of the first layer of the cake. It was the perfect finish to their classic cake design!
This wedding was breathtaking. It was a treat getting to design so many stunning floral pieces and the outcome was extraordinary! Best wishes to Tianna and Mitchell!
